Arlington Business Park welcomes over 1,300 visitors for outdoor cinema event

Earlier this month, Arlington Business Park, Reading, opened its doors to the public to host an outdoor cinema event, showing the recent box-office hit, ‘The Greatest Showman’.
The business park saw over 1,300 film enthusiasts watch the film, shown amongst the 48-acre surroundings. Entertainment also included food trucks and an ice-cream van.
Acquired in 2015 by pan-European institutional investor, Patron Capital, and leading real estate asset and investment manager, APAM, the business park has seen significant investment following a strategy of creative design interventions and improvements.
Successfully completed projects have included a new highly specified urban lakeside lounge, café and gym, bookable meeting rooms, office building extensions and refurbishments and extensive enhancement of the landscaping and public realm, with further investment in progress.
Unique for a business park in the UK, a floating pavilion has recently been unveiled, providing a multi-functional, flexible space for creative collaboration, corporate meetings and tenant social events.
The significant improvements to the park have been very well received by the existing and new occupiers, with 14 new tenants joining since the start of the investment program, and a significant number of additional businesses in discussions to join the park.
Ben Dickins, asset manager at APAM, said: “We are proud to have created a truly remarkable work environment at Arlington Business Park. In addition to the market-leading facilities that have been delivered, including a state-of-the-art gym and café, as well as a floating pavilion – unique to a UK business park – we also introduced a year-round events programme, encouraging interaction and collaboration amongst the occupiers.
“The outdoor cinema event was a huge success and it was fantastic to welcome families from the local area to visit the stunning grounds for an enjoyable summer evening.”
Amy Coles, Arlington Business Park manager, commented: “The atmosphere at Arlington Business Park over the past few weeks has been fantastic. It has been great to see so many visitors from the Reading community come along to take part in our events.
“We couldn’t believe how popular the outdoor cinema event was and we’re extremely grateful to all those who took part in our charity run, raising around £350 for Guide Dogs for the Blind. We’re looking forward to our next charity fun run, as well as the variety of tenant events taking place over the rest of the summer.”
