Mental Health Awareness Week & #Workwell Guest Speaker – Liz Stokoe

This week is #mentalhealthawarenessweek2021 and there has never been a more important time for businesses to concentrate on mental health.

Wellbeing and Mental Health is embedded in our core values, our business is our people. Through our workwell, wellbeing and mental health programmes we bring our values and culture to life.

Yesterday, we were delighted to be joined virtually by Elizabeth Stokoe, Professor of Social Interaction at Loughborough University, as part of our #WorkWell Guest Speaker programme. She highlighted the importance of conversation and how we can utilise it to approach negotiation, gain information and how to ask for favours. Liz also touched on the effectiveness of ‘influence’ especially in crisis situations and how a conversation can save a life.

Liz enabled us to think deeply around the importance of effective conversation, and by properly listening to others we can gain a greater understanding of other people’s perspectives and feelings. This is something, we at APAM, will continue to learn from and implement.

A big thank you to Liz for an enlightening session.
