Simon is a founding shareholder of APAM and APAM Board member based in London.
Simon has 37 years’ experience in the UK commercial property market. He started his career at Richard Ellis in 1982. In 1990 Simon was part of the Morgan Grenfell Asset Management (MGPAM) team that launched the first Jersey Property Unit Trusts. He became MD of MGPAM in 1994 and CEO in 1997; by 2003 funds under management had grown to c. £1 billion.
In 1996 MGPAM (later Deutsche Property Asset Management) under Simon’s guidance launched the first UK commercial property ‘opportunity fund’. In 2003 Simon jointly formed Cooke & Powell LLP and established consultancy agreements with RREEF UK, Sun International and Mosaic Property CEE Ltd (Guernsey). In 2006 Simon became MD of Close Brothers property investment division, also with over £1 billion in funds under management. Simon left Close Brothers in 2009 to launch APAM. Simon is a Fellow of RICS.
Shareholder / Executive Director
William is a founding shareholder and APAM Board member based in London. He is responsible for commercial property investment, asset management, loan advisory and business development.
William has over 23 years’ experience and has had roles with a number of commercial property investment and development companies, including Railtrack Plc and Marlborough Developments.
In 2003 William jointly set up Cooke and Powell LLP an asset management and investment company which invested £130 million into the UK market investing alongside private investors successfully exiting in 2006 producing a 2.23x return on equity.
William joined Close Brothers in 2006 as a Director of the property investment division where he was also a member of the Property Investment Committee. Since 2009 William has overseen the development and growth of APAM managing a team of 40 which has advised clients on over £70 billion of UK real estate.
Shareholder / Executive Director
David is a shareholder and an APAM Board member, based in Manchester. David has a proven track record in building large national professional teams and has an enviable record of maintaining successful partnerships, both with national companies, niche independent practices and entrepreneurs.
David has over 24 years experience in the property and construction industry. In 1990 David turned his entrepreneurial marketing and design skills to the commercial property industry building Property Alliance Group to its current size, with over £200 million of gross assets and £13 million of rental income.
David founded Farouche Cuisine (aged 24), a kitchen manufacturing company, which he grew to 36 branches nationwide, a work force of 3,000, turnover of £38 million p.a. and profit of £3 million. The company was sold to BET plc in 1987 for £12 million. David’s approach is centred on long-standing, successful and profitable partnerships, teamed with an ability to readily adapt to the needs and opportunities of the marketplace. Accordingly, his focus and motivation has turned to challenged assets and bank portfolios where he can deploy his experienced, high quality team to best effect.
Chris is a executive director of APAM. Chris is based in London and is responsible for commercial property investment, asset management and business development. Chris has 15 years experience in the real estate and finance industries, having previously worked at Close Brothers and Alpha Real Capital.
Prior to joining APAM, Chris was a divisional director at Alpha Real Capital which he joined in 2011 following its acquisition of the Close Brothers’ property fund management business. Chris worked in the real estate division at Close Brothers for 8 years prior to moving to Alpha.
At Alpha, Chris was fund manager of a number of UK commercial property funds covering the industrial office and retail sectors of the market. Chris has been involved in the management of and the acquisition/disposal of over £700 million of real estate over the past ten years and has a breadth of experience across the fund management, asset management, financing and structuring facets of real estate transactions.
Melissa is an Executive Director at APAM and is responsible for oversight of the operational activities and financial management strategy of the firm.
Prior to joining APAM, Melissa worked for over 7 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers UK LLP as a Finance Leader in a number of financial management and business decision support roles across the Legal and Tax business divisions. Previously, Melissa worked in Australia for 12 years across a variety of industries, providing financial accounting and analyst support services as a management accountant. During this time, Melissa gained broad experience within the IT and other professional services industries and also the manufacturing and health sectors.

Prior to APAM, Alex was a director with CBRE. During this time, Alex ran the commercial office team with regards to new lettings, acquisitions and development.

Sinéad is Director of Investor Reporting in our London Office.
Sinéad is responsible for oversight of client and lender reporting, data management and analysis.
Prior to joining APAM, Sinéad was an Associate at Hudson Realty Capital LLC, a US real estate private equity fund. During this time, Sinéad managed a diverse portfolio of US investments, across all property sectors (office, multi-family, retail, industrial and hospitality), and investment types (senior debt, equity and mezzanine loan investments).

John is a qualified accountant with over 20 years property finance experience.
Prior to joining the APAM Manchester team John worked at Dunlop Heywood Ltd, Hercules Property Services PLC and Erinaceous Group PLC. Having joined Dunlop Heywood as Management Accountant in 1990 he became Hercules Group Financial Controller in October 1998 and Divisional Finance Director for Erinaceous in October 2004.

Ewan is a Joint Head of Asset Management based in our London Office.
Prior to joining APAM, Ewan has held a number of asset management roles that include Portfolio and Asset Manager at Henderson Global Investors and UK Asset Manager for Tiger Developments. Ewan has more than 12 years post qualification experience in commercial property, predominantly in the business space sector.

Alan built a formidable reputation between 1989 and 2004 whilst running the UK asset management division of Green Property PLC. Growing a UK portfolio from £25 million to in excess of £1 billion. At APAM, Alan is head of the Asset Management team.
Involved in both investment acquisition and sales, and with responsibility for all asset management functions, Alan managed Green through a growth phase completing joint ventures with partners including PDFM, GE Capital and Goldman Sachs. In 1996 Green succeeded in the hostile takeover of Trafford Park Estates PLC after which, Green retained a Manchester office to add to its existing offices in London and Cardiff under Alan’s management. Throughout, Green adhered to a policy of managing its assets in-house with dedicated teams of property and asset managers having detailed knowledge of each asset and tenant. This formula ensured Green’s reputation for continuous out performance of comparable portfolios.
Following the MBO of Green by Stephen Vernon/HBOS/Merrill Lynch Alan was retained as a main board Director with responsibility for overseeing the sale of Green’s UK asset base, achieved within 2 years and ahead of target. Subsequently, Alan ran Weybourne Asset Management, a niche investment/asset management vehicle based in London sourcing and asset managing real estate investment opportunities on behalf of high net worth investors. He is also a Director of Hughendon Estates, a small development company operating in high end residential on Barbados.

Ian Lester is Head of Property Management based in our London office.
Prior to APAM, Ian joined Cording as a partner to set up and run Cording Property Management with particular responsibility for the control and administration of the department.
Ian has over 30 years property experience starting his career at Lee Baron. He then moved to William H Brown, Hertz and Hertz surveyors and Brian Cooper and Co, where Ian ran the commercial management department. When Brian Cooper and Co later merged with Hammond Phillips, Ian was appointed a director. He remained responsible for the management of the department which expanded substantially to a portfolio of c.£1 billion, and was directly involved in instructions such as the London Trocadero, the London Pavilion and The Criterion Building in Piccadilly as well as St Nicholas Shopping Centre, Sutton.
Lars has over 30 years’ international experience, having worked in Denmark, Germany and Turkey, and has been Managing Director of Danmerc since 2003. Danmerc is a niche fund manager specialising in Danish investors into the UK market.
In 2016, Lars joined APAM and coordinates Danmerc’s Danish client liaison and activities and implements their financial strategies in conjunction with APAM’s investment and management teams. He is responsible for contact with banks regarding financing, refinancing and swap agreements and with tax authorities, auditors and other external advisors on behalf of Danish clients.
Operations and Marketing Manager
Charlie is Operations and Marketing Manager at APAM and is responsible for oversight of the firm’s marketing strategy, human resources and office management functions.
Prior to joining APAM, Charlie worked within human resources for Valad Europe. She has over 8 years’ experience across a variety of industries, including Team Leader within Operations at Anglo Irish Bank (later IBRC) and a marketing role for The Beyond Travel Company.

Daniel previously managed national FM services for CBRE and Norland, contracts included M&E compliance for more than 300 Santander branches, nationwide Bupa care homes/head offices and Cheshire West Council public properties. At APAM, Daniel is responsible for co-ordinating our FM procedures, drafting and implementing policies, ensuring we are complying with all relevant health and safety and fire safety requirements throughout our managed portfolio and ensuring all properties are being maintained to a high standard.
Senior Investment Manager
Patrick joined APAM from CBRE Global Investors where he was a senior associate and worked on the £1.5bn CBRE UK Property PAIF with responsibility for investment transactions, portfolio management and asset management.
He has a wealth of experience having also spent time at the indirect side of the business ‘CBRE Global Investment Partners’ where he was responsible for the oversight of a number of programmatic joint ventures, and as an Assistant Fund Manager within the Separate Accounts Group. During his time at CBRE GI, Patrick has been responsible for over £500m of direct and indirect transactions.

Timo joined Catella 1998 and has had several years of executive experience in the property and finance industry. He has held various positions within the Catella Group, including managing director of Catella Bank and head of Catella Finland. Timo is based Catella AB headquarters in Stockholm.
Prior to Catella, Timo gained experience from several executive positions, including Arsenal Asset Management and the Finnish Savings Bank Group.

Caj Tigerstedt joined Catella in 2009 and is currently responsible for Principal Investments (Catella’s own investments) and Group M&A.
Previous experience includes advice in some 20+ M&A transactions, mainly on behalf of European mid-cap PE funds such as EQT and 3i, as well as business development and strategy advisory.
Caj is based at Catella AB headquarters in Stockholm.

Jyrki joined Catella Asset Management in 2011 and is currently responsible for the investment and business development for Catella on a pan-European level.
Previous experience includes senior positions at Abderdeen, Real Capital Partners & Tiger Developments. Jyrki has extensive property experience in several European markets & he is based in Finland, Germany & Luxembourg.

Joakim Künstlicher joined Catella AB in 2016 and is responsible for the Catella Group Business Development.
Before joining Catella AB Joakim has had senior positions for the last 20+ years within Nordic Investment Bank ABG Sundal Collier ASA, Nordea Bank, UBS AG, and Swiss Bank Warburg.
His work expertise comprises of business development, product development, risk management, distribution, sales and trading in equity, fixed income, derivatives and alternatives. Joakim is based at Catella AB headquarters in Stockholm.
Head of Shopping Centre Asset Management
Daniel is Head of Shopping Centre Asset Management with a focus on providing recovery and repositioning for regional shopping centres.
Daniel joined APAM from Queensberry, where he ran the Asset Management team and had responsibility for new investment acquisitions and disposals working on projects including The Metquarter, Liverpool; Friars Walk, Newport; The Glassworks, Barnsley; Tunsgate Quarter, Guildford; and The Kingsway, Newport.
Daniel has over 15 years’ experience working on leasing, asset management and investment of retail and shopping centre projects across the UK.
