Catella APAM’s African Adventure 2024

APAM Africa fundraising

As part of Catella APAM’s Impacts and Charitable initiatives, Catella APAM is again proud to be supporting Conservation Lower Zambezi’s (“CLZ”) Rubatano sports day on 8th June. The Catella APAM Team are targeting to raise £5,000 to support this event and are separately self-funding the trip to Zambia to help run the event and see the impressive impact that CLZ have on the community.

CLZ is a charity committed to the conservation of wildlife and the environment in the Lower Zambezi by working with the Zambian Department of National Parks and Wildlife (“DNPW”) and local communities to combat poaching in the region. (https://lnkd.in/dMsumjRr)

Each year, CLZ’s education and community engagement programmes reaches over 2,500 children through on-site courses, school Conservation Clubs, and teacher training. They also provide education on animal behaviour and teach strategies to minimise conflict with animals.

Rubatano means “unity” in the local Goba language and is a key event in CLZ’s community engagement programme. It aims to promote relationships between the local community, DNPW, conservation organisations, lodges, and other stakeholders outside of law enforcement. Members of our team will be travelling to Zambia to assist in the running of the sports day.

By engaging the community in conservation through an exciting sports day, CLZ aims to improve knowledge and attitudes towards wildlife and the natural environment, helping the local community to take pride in Zambia’s natural heritage and be responsible for its protection.

APAM has supported CLZ for over 9 years and has committed to supporting Rubatano for the next 5 years. A donation to CLZ will help to fund this important event, provide prizes, and feed over 600 children on the day. Thank you for your support!
